Welcome to Episode 40 of the Voices Of Boyle Podcast!
A very special welcome to episode 40, which also happens to fall on St. Patrick’s Day.
St. Patrick’s Day has also been a very important day for our guest for this week’s episode, Bernie Carty!
Many of you will undoubtedly know Bernie and will also be familiar with his various involvements over the years, from the restoration of the Elphin Windmill and to participating in various St. Patrick’s Day parades both across Ireland and even in New York.
His story is a fascinating one and gives us a vivid glimpse into life in Ireland back in those days.
I would also like to thank, Tony Conboy, as he arranged this episode with Bernie and I was delighted to also have Tony as a guest co-host for this episode.
We hope you enjoy the episode.
Thanks to Brendan O’ Dowd for creating and recording the musical piece for the podcast.
BE A GUEST ON THE SHOW!
If you’ve a story about Boyle, we’d love to hear it. You don’t need to have done anything remarkable, and you don’t need to prepare a thing. We sit down, have a chat, and you talk about whatever you want to. It usually takes about an hour.
Thinking of someone else? A parent, a grandparent, a neighbour who remembers how it used to be? Tell us about them. Some of our best episodes started because a son or daughter got in touch. You can find us at [email protected].
