Welcome to Episode 16 of the Voices Of Boyle Podcast!
Welcome to episode 16 of the Voices of Boyle podcast.
This week’s guest is none other than Christy Wynne, who was the inspiration behind the creation of this podcast.
During the lockdown period in the summer of 2020, Christy’s exceptional blog posts detailing his childhood memories of growing up in Boyle fascinated us. These stories were so captivating and touching that they inspired us to create a podcast that would not only showcase Christy’s stories but also those of the community members of Boyle and the surrounding areas.
Christy’s stories serve as a reminder of the importance of community and the role it plays in shaping our lives.
In this episode, Christy talks about his early days growing up as a young fella in Boyle, his brief spell over in London during the 1960’s along with various other significant stories. His love for Boyle and its people is evident throughout the conversation.
We’d like to thank Christy for sharing his stories and inspiring the creation of the Voices of Boyle podcast.
Christy and his precious friend, Woody.
This photo will certainly jog a few memories (spot the peri crisps and milky moos!!).
Thanks to Brendan O’ Dowd for creating and recording the musical piece for the podcast.
BE A GUEST ON THE SHOW!
If you’ve a story about Boyle, we’d love to hear it. You don’t need to have done anything remarkable, and you don’t need to prepare a thing. We sit down, have a chat, and you talk about whatever you want to. It usually takes about an hour.
Thinking of someone else? A parent, a grandparent, a neighbour who remembers how it used to be? Tell us about them. Some of our best episodes started because a son or daughter got in touch. You can find us at [email protected].
