About This Episode
Welcome to Episode 14 of the Voices Of Boyle Podcast!
Today’s guest is none other than Teresa Tarpey! Daughter of the late and great Frank Tarpey, lots of you will know Teresa from the family owned travel agents and pub.
Listen as Teresa takes us on a big trip down memory lane to her days growing up in Elphin Street. We talk about the travel agents business and the pivotal role it played in the town (and the county) back in the day. Everything was manual (no Ryanair back then!) and running the business took a lot of hard work and determination. Teresa shares some funny stories about her dad and the golden days of the Old Fair Days etc.
Her attention to detail is phenomenal and we’re so glad that we got to sit down with Teresa and get an insight into her life growing up with her mum, dad and siblings in the centre of Boyle town back in the 1960s & 1970s.
Make a cuppa and enjoy!
Thanks to Brendan O’ Dowd for creating and recording the musical piece for the podcast.
